About our Partnering Organisation
American Heart Association
The six cardiologists who founded the American Heart Association in 1924 would be amazed. From humble beginnings, the AHA has grown into the nation’s oldest and largest voluntary organization dedicated to fighting heart disease and stroke. A shared focus on cardiovascular health unites our more than 40 million volunteers and supporters as well as our more than 2,800 employees. Heart disease is the No. 1 killer worldwide, and stroke ranks second globally. Even when those conditions don’t result in death, they cause disability and diminish the quality of life. We want to see a world free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke. Our size and scope let us have a real impact. The AHA has invested more than $4.6 billion in research, making us the largest not-for-profit funding source for cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease research next to the federal government. Learn more about our life-changing funded research breakthroughs. Follow us on Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, or visit our website www.heart.org/ for more information.

MOHAN Foundation
MOHAN Foundation is a not-for-profit, non-governmental organization started to promote organ donation in 1997 in Chennai by philanthropists and medical professionals led by Dr. Sunil Shroff. It is a registered NGO with Income Tax exemption under Section 80G and has offices in Chennai, Hyderabad, Delhi-NCR, Chandigarh, Nagpur, Jaipur, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Imphal, Kerala, Goa, and affiliates in the USA and UK. MOHAN Foundation was started by a group of like-minded and concerned medical and non-medical professionals committed to improve organ donation rate in the country under the legal framework of the law called the Transplantation of Human Organs Act, that was passed in 1994-95. The law broadens the concept of organ donation and makes it illegal for any commercial dealings in organs like kidneys. It is now possible to not only donate one’s eyes, but also other vital organs like the heart, lungs, liver, pancreas and kidneys after one has been deceased or brain dead.
