Critical Care Technician Course Details
In the Critical Care Technology Course, students will develop the basic skills necessary to monitor critically ill patients within a healthcare setting. They will learn to take ECGs, monitor the patients on ventilators and anesthesia machines, and also learn spirometry techniques, assisting intensivists in various tasks.
Critical Care Technician will cover the following topics
Basic Course Curriculum:
- Introduction to Critical care equipment’s: Anaesthesia & Ventilator parameters and Equipment Handling
- Low flow anaesthesia, lung protective ventilation and Spirometry techniques
- Basics of Ventilation in Intensive Care Unit - ICU (Modes, Alarms, Troubleshooting, Care of Patient on Ventilator)
- How to Treat Cardiac Arrhythmias: Drugs, Synchronized Cardio-version, Unsynchronized Cardio-version
Advanced Course Curriculum:
- Critical care equipment’s An overview
- Oxygen Therapy in ICU: Nasal Prongs, Face Mask, Venturi Mask, Non-Rebreather Mask (NRBM), High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Non-Invasive Ventilation, Alarm fatigue: overview and trends, Assessing ventilation and blood flow with capnography
- ICU Protocols (Analgesia, Sedation, Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT), Glycemic Control, Waste Management….)
- Management on various Intensive Care Unit (ICU) drugs, Intravenous (IV) fluids & Arterial Blood Gas (ABG) interpretation, Central Venous Pressure (CVP) and Arterial Line Transducer and Interpretation in cardiac monitor
- Infection control and isolation procedures
Basic & Beginner Level Training for fresher’s as well as technicians with 3 months of work experience
- Delivery: Online self-paced videos with expert Q&A
- Duration: 60 Days access to LMS & 10 hours for expert Q&A sessions
For Healthcare Technicians or Paramedics with 6 months work experience
- Delivery: Blended format: Online on-demand videos with in-person session demos
- Duration: 2 weeks of in-person training on simulator @ Tech Mahindra Foundation SMART Academy + 60 day LMS access
For Healthcare Technicians or Paramedics with 1 year work experience
- Delivery: Hands-on using the equipment/ Simulator
- Duration: 60 days access to LMS + 3 days of onsite immersion training + 2 days of in-person session for doubt clearing
